About 6:30 pm on Thursday evening Plymouth County Deputies, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT, Akron Fire Rescue and Hawarden EMS responded to Highway 12 at Highway 3 just North of Westfield after a Jeep Renegade crossed the center line crashing head-on into a Mount Marty Bus carrying 6 individuals from the Golf Team.
The driver of the Renegade was transported to Mercy Medical Center by Akron EMS, the passengers on the bus were transported by Akron EMS and Hawarden EMS to Hawarden hospital where they were treated and released.
The names and conditions are not being released at this time. The accident remains under investigation by the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol. Highway 12 was closed for about 4 hours while the crash was investigated on scene. The vehicles were removed by Stockton Towing.
