A family member tells Siouxland Scanner that five people live at the home located at 46890 N Railroad St, in Burbank. Four were home at the time of the fire 2 received burn injuries and were transported to a Vermillion hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The fire broke out shortly before 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 4th. Firefighters from Vermillion and Elk Point spent hours battling the blaze which destroyed the home. 3 pets, 2 dogs, and a cat perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
