Court documents say a Deputy with Woodbury County Sheriff's Department running radar stopped a vehicle for having a brake light out after following it doing 45mph in a 55mph zone.
The driver admitted to being suspended. In the process of the traffic stop the deputy noticed a clear container with a baggie inside, later identified to contain 11.5 grams of methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle and 3 passengers yielded another gram of methamphetamine and 2 glass pipes.
In the course of the investigation and search a fourth person, 55-year-old Raymond Hartz traveling with them was identified and located at a nearby casino. After review of casino surveillance video and passenger statements, Raymond Hartz was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute of 11.5 grams of methamphetamine that was located in the same place he was sitting in the vehicle.
Another passenger 54-year-old Randal Nielsen was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hartz is being held in the Woodbury County Jail on $5,000 Bond scheduled to be back in court on March 24, 2017. Nielsen was released on $1500 Bond scheduled back in court on March 24, 2017
