Court documents say that Brittney Hood was the initial driver when deputies attempted to stop a car for a brake light violation and improper use of lanes. The vehicle failed to stop and the deputy initiated a pursuit that started near 260th and Barker Avenue North of Salix, Iowa.
The pursuit lasted a short time reaching speeds of over 80mph in a 55mph zone and 70mph in a 45mph zone. The vehicle came to a stop North of 235th and Port Neal Road where Hood ran on foot into a field where she was apprehended. In addition to charges related to the pursuit, Hood refused to comply with commands during her arrest.
