According to a petition started by Sara Bunker on charge.org the City of Sioux City is considering selling Headington Park to Briar Cliff University for $1

Briar Cliff plans to use the park for additional student housing and practice fields.

Many have already signed the petition and made phone calls to Parks and Recreation Director Matt HSalvatore. Comments from Crescent Park are residents and others are pretty clear they do not want to see this happen to their park.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016, the Sioux City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and City Council met to discuss Briar Cliff’s $1 offer to buy Headington Park.
