Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officers will concentrate enforcement efforts in Sioux City on Friday, October 21st.
According to a release from Iowa Department of Transportation will be looking for violations such as; following too close, lane change violations, speedings, seat belts, and cell phone usage. They will be looking for violations on Interstate 29, Highway 20, Highway 75, and the Iowa 520 Bypass.
The purpose of the enforcement Blitz is to concentrate officers efforts on detecting unsafe behaviors by both commercial drivers and vehicles drivers in an effort to reduce the number of injuries and deaths from crashes.
This same enforcement blitz will be happening in Des Moines on October 17, Davenport on October 18th, Cedar Rapids on October 19th, and Council Bluffs on October 20th.
