A truck driver distracted by a bee in the cab veered off the road and rolled into the ditch about 11:25AM Monday on Highway 75 just north of Hinton.
Plymouth County Sheriff's Department and Hinton Fire responded to the scene. A construction crew in the area assisted with cones and Iowa DOT helped with traffic control. 1 lane of Southbound Traffic remained open initially until cattle began escaping from a hole in the trailer. Traffic was rerouted to C44 west to K30 South from about 12:30PM until 3:00PM when the accident was cleared and the road reopened.
According to Plymouth County Deputies, the driver was not injured. 4 cattle died, of the cattle that escaped all but 2 were rounded up by 1:30PM.
