Just after noon near the 300 block of Floyd an individual was caught burglarizing a vehicle.
The suspect, Juan Alvarez, was caught by the vehicle owner and friend who gave chase after he attempted the flee the area. A short distance later Alvarez pulled a knife and stabbed the friend. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alvarez ran from the area but was located about an hour later near W. 4th and Wesley Parkway and taken into custody without incident.
Juan Alvarez, 25 of Sioux City, was arrested for Willful Injury and Attempted Burglary to a Vehicle.
