The fire investigation found that a child playing with a lighter caused an early morning fire in Sioux City's Riverside Neighborhood.
About 8:50 a.m. Monday, June 19th, Sioux City Fire Rescue Responded to 2221 Boise Street in Sioux City's Riverside Neighborhood for reports of a fire. Firefighters worked for more than an hour to get the fire out and locate and extinguish hot spots. Officials say that working smoke alarms allowed the 10 people, 4 adults and 6 children and 3 pets 2 dogs and a cat in the home time to escape. Two family pets a cat and a dog did not make it out.
