Sioux City Police and Rescue crews responded to 5001 Sioux River Road about Noon on Thursday, June 1st after a vehicle was reported to have gone over the embankment and into the Big Sioux River near Stone State Park on Highway 12.
Police say a man in his 60's was removed from the car by Sioux City Police and Sioux City Fire Rescue and transported to the hospital by Siouxland Paramedics with minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation and it's unclear how the vehicle ended up going down the 30-foot embankment with the front of the car going into the river.
