Just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday Morning on April 16th Sioux City Fire Rescue responded to 1315 West 15th Street in Sioux City for reports of a house on fire.
The fire prevention bureau confirms scanner traffic we heard that a neighbor saw flames and dialed 911, they say the home was red tagged on March 26th and was unoccupied and there were no injuries reported. At one point flames were shooting from the roof more than 20 feet into the air. Witnesses said they could see the smoke and flames from as far away as Hamilton BBoulevard
Firefighters fought the blaze for more than 2 hours before they were able to get it under control, the last of the crews left the scene around 7:00 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the structure a complete loss.
