About 3:00pm Friday Sioux City Police and rescue crews responded to the 2600 Block of South Lakeport Near Applewood Avenue after a school bus transporting children rear-ended a minivan.

Another vehicle, a brown SUV was in front of the minivan was also involved. It's not known at this time the number of injuries, at least one child was transported and an individual in the minivan were transported to the hospital by Siouxland Paramedics. Sioux City School officials, Sioux City Fire Rescue and Siouxland Paramedics checked and spoke with each child as they were removed from the bus and then ushered across the street and to another bus.
