Police say one person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after being hit by a car about 8:30PM Wednesday evening.

According to Sergeant Jay Hoogendyk, the initial investigation shows that a car northbound on Hamilton Blvd hit a female crossing Hamilton East on West 3rd. Witness reports that that the car had a green light and the pedestrian was not crossing in a crosswalk. Speed is not believed to be a factor.

The pedestrian was unconscious when police and rescue arrived and transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police do not expect any charges as a result of the accident.
