The drive led officers on a pursuit through the northside of Sioux City before losing control. As the suspect, Ricardo Vital, exited the crashed vehicle he was taken into custody. Ricardo Vital was charged with Theft 2nd, Felony OWI, Felony Eluding, Reckless Driving, Driving While Barred and Speeding. The driver also had a felony warrant for Parole Violation.
