Body of person believed to have gone into Missouri River recovered near Decatur

Sioux City Police with the assistance of Sioux City Fire, North Sioux City Fire, Woodbury County Sheriff's Office and Iowa Department of Natural Resources searched the river and the riverfront from Riverside to Larson Park area Saturday, June 23rd after property was found in the area that was believed to have gone into the river.

A release from Sioux City Police says about 4:30 pm on Saturday the Burt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a body that was pulled from the river near Decatur with the assistance of Decatur Rescue boat.

The identify of the person is not being released. The investigation is ongoing and no additional details are being released at this time.
