Dashcam Melvin Spencer fires at deputy after getting stuck during pursuit in February Sioux City

Dashcam Video from Deputy Lenz patrol vehicle was released today now that the trial against Melvin Spencer has been released. This dashcam footage is after the initial driver jumped out of the car and was apprehended. Melvin Spencer, a passenger then sped away in the vehicle being spotted and pursued by Deputy Lenz.

Melvin Spencer went on Trial Thursday, August 24th for Attempted Murder after he fired at Deputy Lenz when his vehicle became stuck in the snow after a pursuit that ended near the Sioux City Aiport and Police Training Center.

Spencer's passenger was shot and injured when Lenz returned fire on the car. Melvin Spencer has been in jail waiting since his capture a couple hours after the incident on February 26th.

The case was sent to the Jury after 2 days of testimony on Friday, August 25th
