Sioux City Police arrested a man on multiple felony charges following a brief standoff Wednesday night on the city’s west side.

Patrick Langan, 35, of Sioux City, is facing charges of terrorism, possession of a firearm by a felon, going armed with intent, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Around 9 p.m. on February 4, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1900 block of George Street, where they found a home and a vehicle struck multiple times by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Investigators identified Langan as the suspect and later located him at 1618 W. Third Street. Due to concerns that he was armed and dangerous, Sioux City Police activated SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams. Several other occupants exited the home safely, but Langan refused to communicate with negotiators.

SWAT deployed a drone to locate him inside the residence and used chemical irritants to force him out. A Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office K-9 assisted in taking Langan into custody after he failed to comply with commands.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sioux City Police at 712-279-6440 or Crime Stoppers at 712-258-TIPS.
