The State of Siouxland Scanner
As some of you have noticed over the last couple of months, things have changed at Siouxland Scanner. In addition to ongoing medical issues that I deal with regularly and work that actually pays the bills keeping me busy, the legitimacy of Siouxland Scanner has been called into question. I've been assured this has nothing to do with me directly, but rather because I'm not part of a traditional, recognized media organization. I know many of you will disagree with this assessment—the Constitution is very protective of media rights, any media, good, bad, or indifferent.
Here's your chance to share what you think about Siouxland Scanner and the more than 10 years I've spent covering local public safety news in the Siouxland area. I know I'm not perfect. I know I've made mistakes. But I also know the knowledge I've gained, the relationships I've built, and the community that relies on me—and is here today supporting my dream of covering public safety news in Siouxland.
I don't know what this all means for the future. I can promise you there are wheels in motion behind the scenes, and I'm doing everything I can to resolve these issues. But I wanted to give you the opportunity to voice your support or concerns in the comments below without moderation (links and excessive profanity may be moderated, but your opinions will not be).
## Questions to consider:
