It’s wild how convenient Amazon has made our lives… and just as wild how much we’ve lost because of it. That convenience came at the cost of countless small businesses—especially the ones that refused to lose money just to be listed on Amazon’s terms.
But the convenience doesn’t stop at packages on the doorstep. It now reaches deep into our neighborhoods in ways most people never notice.
Most folks have no idea how massive Amazon Sidewalk really is. It quietly blankets entire cities using devices people already own, creating a giant network that no one really signed up for in a meaningful way. And now, with Amazon Ring partnering with FLOCK—plus Ring rolling out facial recognition—the scale of what’s being collected is bigger and more invasive than ever.
I’m not paranoid. I’m not hiding anything. I just can’t stand the idea of private companies scooping up mass amounts of data on millions of people with zero real oversight, no regulation, and the ability to share or sell that data to whoever they want. Other companies… law enforcement… even without a warrant.
I’m putting together something to show just how large this Sidewalk network is right here locally. I’ll be posting soon—along with a deeper dive that’s honestly more unsettling than I expected.
Stay tuned. This one’s an eye-opener.
